PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is Indonesia State Owned Enterprises engaged in transportation which organized the railway transport services. Service of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) includes passenger and goods transport. In late March 2007, parliament passed the revision of Law no. 13/1992 which states that private investors and regional governments were given the opportunity to manage the rail freight services in Indonesia. On August 14, 2008 PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) to do the separation of the Division of PT Kereta Api Commuter Jabotabek (KCJ) to manage rail commuters in Jakarta and surrounding areas. During 2008 the number of passengers of PT KAI (Persero) exceeded 197 million.
